job title

Head of Partners

my background

I started my career in the business travel industry which is where I got the bug to travel.

I had originally hoped to be a police officer, however at 5ft 4" I was too short to join at the time (this seems crazy writing this now!) Twenty years later I became a response officer for West Sussex. I absolutely loved my time as a police officer but having had a 9-5 type career for the previous 20 years the shifts and missing family and friends got the better of me.

After 2 years as a response officer I approached a recruitment company to help me look for a new job & they offered me a position working for them. This is where my career in the recruitment sector started and I've never looked back.

my typical day

Is there such thing as a typical day at hireful? 🤣

I'm lucky enough to have a dual role at hireful - 7 years ago I started as an Account Director for London and the South East and have the pleasure of working with just under 100 corporate clients. I was asked to head up the partner programme 2 years ago and now also have responsibility for helping over 150 independent HR consultants support their clients with all things recruitment.

I tend to book in new business meetings and ATS demos in the morning and save my account management work for the afternoon. This way my energy levels are high all day - I get to meet new people in the mornings and see my amazing clients and partners for a catch up in the afternoons. Perfect!

skills I have developed at hireful

So many.... where do I start.

Our co-founder Adrian is always presenting new tools and ideas on how we can support our clients so there is always something new coming our way.

Over the years we've also added a number of new features to our ATS so this has been very exciting for us and our clients, so these have been great to learn and share.

Most recently I've undertaken an online course of minimising bias which is free forever via our online skills academy.

what advice would you give to a new starter at hireful?

‍Muck in and be yourself, you are allowed to be!

what surprised you about hireful?

‍I was a client for 4 years before joining them so I had a really good feel for what they were about. I thought they were always professional, honest and friendly as I was such a great client 😉 but this is just who they are. Every single person really does live and breathe their values.
